SCTH Signs 43 Archaeological Sites

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) continues its efforts in preserving the cultural heritage and taking care of it all over the regions of Saudi Arabia.

Within the programme of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to take care of national heritage, SCTH was able to register 43 archaeological sites in various regions of Saudi Arabia during the second quarter of the year.

Nayef bin Ali Al-Qanour, general director, registration and protection, SCTH, said that the mission of the National Register is to document and register archaeological sites and to drop them on digital maps that facilitate their management, protection and preservation. This comes in addition to the registry task of building a spatial database of the registered archaeological sites, to save and document the works going on there.
