SCTNH Partners with Waseda University on Archaeological Surveying

Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) signed a joint cooperation agreement with Japan's Waseda University for archaeological surveying and exploration at Al-Hawra’ site in Governorate of Almaj at Tabouk Province.

The signing came on the side-lines of a visit to Tokyo by H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, president, SCTNH.

According to the agreement, a university team will work alongside a Saudi team in the field of archaeological research and excavation at the site, within international joint missions operating in the Kingdom under the Commission’s supervision.

The Kingdom and Japan have already effectively cooperated in the field of archaeology and national heritage. Past programmes involving the Kingdom and Japan include archaeological excavations, joint exhibitions, handicrafts and training schemes.
