SAA Supporting Age Friendly City Programme

Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has recently signed a Document of Commitment to the Care of the Elderly, an initiative within the strategic plan of Age Friendly City.

This step supports the vision of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, ruler, Sharjah, on making the emirate an age-friendly ideal environment where residents avail best services, achieving their happiness and welfare.

H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, chairman, SAA, noted, “Signing such a document is a part of SAA’s commitment to its social responsibility and keenness to make Sharjah an age-friendly ideal environment and to provide best services, programs and infrastructure achieving happiness and welfare for all different categories of society.”

SAA is currently providing many options to the elderly including medical services required for the elderly through Sharjah Airport Medical Centre, smart-gates for people with special needs and the elderly, suitable escalators designed for all categories, wheelchairs and buses equipped with hydraulic apparatus to lift passengers and transport them to the aircraft, safely and efficiently.
