SFQ Launches Sports Programme for Special Need Children

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Sports Academy (SFQ), has launched a sports programme for kids with special needs titled, Adapted Physical Activities, at Spectra school in Al Duhail area.

The programme is suitable for children of ages five to 11, suffering with autism, down syndrome, ADHD and general learning disabilities, by introducing activities based on not only teaching kids physical activities like swimming and diverse ball games, but also activities such as lego, arts, crafts and phonics

Activities include a lot of benefits such as enabling kids develop muscle strength, coordination and flexibility, improvement in behavior, academics, self-confidence, building friendships, and also decrease secondary health complications like obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.
