Sabre Sees Revenue Surge in Q1

In the first quarter (Q1) of this year, Sabre reported a 6.5 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue to USD915.4 million.

During the period under review, revenue from airline and hospitality solutions reached USD258 million, a growth of 8.2 percent. This was supported by a 7.1 percent boost in passengers boarded as well as a strong rise in hotel transactions.

Furthermore, travel network revenue soared to USD663.5 million, up 6.1 percent over Q1 2016.

While noting that the company has enhanced investment in its technology infrastructure to nearly USD1 billion, Sean Menke, CEO, Sabre, said, "The macro global travel environment was supportive of growth in travel, and helped drive strong bookings, passengers boarded and hotel transaction growth across our businesses in the quarter."
