THE CRUCIAL LINK BETWEEN AN EVENT’S SUCCESS AND FAILURE IS HUGELY DEPENDENT ON ITS VENUE AND HOST CITY.

SIDH N C, DIRECTOR, QNA INTERNATIONAL EXPLAINS HOW THE COMPANY IS HELPING DUBAI MAINTAIN ITS POSITION AS A TOP MICE DESTINATION.

TRAVEL TRADE WEEKLY: What do you believe are some the reasons behind Dubai’s popularity as a MICE destination?

SIDH N C: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler, Dubai said, “The race for excellence has no finish line.” This quote is a living inspiration for all and one that encompasses the vision of His Highness to drive continuous growth for Dubai.

Dubai is the top location for MICE, not only regionally, but also globally. The facts speak for themselves, tourist arrivals increased 7.5 percent to 11.58 million in the first half of 2017 and were set to surpass 2016 statistics of 14.9 million overnight visitors, according to Dubai Tourism data.

Dubai is always developing existing spectacular services, with amazing new attractions, luxury and mid-range hotels, jaw dropping venues and infrastructure projects. It has unrivalled connectivity to key industry points across the world, while within the city, assured agile-connectivity and mobility enables for a world-class public transport system.

TRAVEL TRADE WEEKLY: How does QnA International build on this quality infrastructure?

SIDH N C: Organising B2B events form a core part of QNA. We endeavour to promote Dubai by launching events that play an important role in the development and growth of the business events industry.

Dubai is home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and is leading the region by going big with the latest emerging technologies, from robotic police forces to autonomous taxis, to name a few.

By organising our events here, we are able to capitalise on the luxurious amenities and deliver the best to our discerning tech savvy global clients. Some of our flagship events are held in Dubai; the sixth Annual MICE Arabia and Luxury Travel Congress which provides an annual platform for MICE influencers; and the fourth Annual HR Tech MENA Summit which is the only HR Tech Confex across the MENA region.

We also launched the 2017 PX Show, Dubai at Palazzo Versace with the aim to promote Dubai as a destination for planners to the stars, celebrities, royals and HNWIs. It was an overwhelming success and showcased the destination to over 120 prequalified planners from over 30 countries for the first time.

TRAVEL TRADE WEEKLY: What are QnA International’s strengths when it comes to attracting overseas business?

We have hosted our events at Palazzo Versace, Rixos Premium, Ritz Carlton DIFC, Emirates Palace, St Regis And Westin Dubai, to name a few.

QNA events provide a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing and exploring commercial opportunities through high-profile discussions, which are delivered through state-of-the-art A/V technology from our partners such as Showtech at the high tech event venues.

With participations from around the world, the venue and city infrastructure plays a very important part, not to mention that global clientele are super impressed with the smooth travel through Dubai's integrated travel options and luxurious malls.

Dubai is among the world’s safest destinations, geographically it is strategically located between the East and West with over two-thirds of the world's population living within eight hours flight from Dubai.

Our organisation puts emphasis on efficient infrastructure, connectivity and facilities for our business clients that helps us boost our global and regional positioning as a prominent event organiser.

TRAVEL TRADE WEEKLY: Are there any areas for Dubai that you believe require further development or improvement?

SIDH N C: MICE is a highly promising niche within tourism, it is the core for business tourism strategy pursued by UAE policymakers. Constructing new convention centres which offer additional conference and meeting space is a continuous process, hence it’s already in progress.
