In its efforts to boost Dubai’s global maritime leadership, the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 31000:2009 for implementing its Risk Management Framework that meets the highest international standards.

The international recognition highlighted DMCA’s leadership in applying best risk management practices to build a secure and sustainable maritime sector that supports the country’s economic diversification policy and preparations for a post-oil economy and to perform well in an environment full of uncertainty.

Amer Ali, executive director, DMCA, said that receiving ISO 31000:2009 is an important step towards building a resilient maritime community, enhancing economic performance and professional reputation, as well as environmental, safety and security for the maritime sector. This recent development will also help bolster the country in line with UAE Vision 2021.
