Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has begun to issue permits for vehicles of tour operators wishing to enter desert and natural habitat areas.

Implemented to boost destination experiences in the emirate, the project will enable guests to explore less visited areas and participate in adventure activities.

H.E. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, chairman, SCTDA, explained that both preserving the environment and reducing the impact of tourism on local residents are priorities.

In addition to paving the way for a more organised movement of vehicles, the initiative is expected to improve safety and therefore reduce accidents and risks for visitors.
