Bahrain Won Membership in UNWTO Council

During the 22nd session of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly in China, Bahrain was selected as a member of UNWTO Executive Council for the period 2018-2021, meaning it will represent the Middle East in terms of tourism developments.

Represented by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), the Kingdom was chosen on the base of the votes made by the Middle East Committee.

Alongside Egypt, it will become a part of 32-members council representing six global regions.

While expressing his gratitude, H.E. Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, chairman, BTEA, said, ”This achievement will further strengthen the Kingdom’s position in managing the tourism portfolio on an international level.”
