Dubai Maritime Authority Sets Water Traffic Rules

Progressing in its efforts to create secure and sustainable maritime environment, Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has issued traffic regulations for Dubai Water Canal.

The initiative seeks to improve security and navigation safety, along with achieving the highest operational efficiency within Dubai’s territorial waters.

The new rules include, among others, the prohibition of jet skis, fishing boats, and commercial dhows, while other vessels are able to freely navigate within certain limitations.

Amer Ali, executive director, DMCA, explained, “The DMCA is continuously developing comprehensive and integrated strategies in line with its aspirations to build a vibrant, safe, and inclusive maritime community. We also seek to raise the local sector’s global competitiveness to attract regional and international investors to Dubai.”
