GCC Tourist Spending to Top USD70 Billion

Hospitality and retail revenues are set to continue to grow at an accelerated rate in the Middle East

with tourists from the GCC expected to spend USD73 billion by 2019, according to Dinar Standard.

Propelled by the rising demand for upcoming mega events, the two sectors are anticipated to adopt audiovisual technology solutions, such as digital signage, guest room control as well as way finding.

As a result, the Middle East and Africa’s audiovisual market for hospitality and retail combined is forecast to reach USD782 million by 2016, up 62 percent from 2012, a report from InfoComm International suggests. In light of these, it came as no surprise that InfoComm MEA 2015 attracted more than 200 manufacturers and suppliers from 30 countries.
