The flight, which has operated since 2015, takes the airline’s West Africa-Washington operations to seven flights a week, including the twice-weekly service from Dakar.
American Airlines codeshare with United Airlines gives passengers easy access to more than 100 cities across the US and Canada via IAD.
The IAD-ACC route will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 and A330-300. The Airbus A330-200 offers 36 flat-bed seats in business class and 186 seats in economy class while the larger Airbus A330-300 offers 46 seats in business class and 203 in economy.
SAA has also entered into a codeshare with Africa World Airlines which allows passengers easy connection to other destinations in West Africa, including Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria, Monrovia in Liberia and Freetown in Sierra Leone.
