Cape Town Targets Muslim Tourists

Cape Town is positioning itself as a top Halal tourist destination, hoping to attract Muslim travellers by underlining its Halal credentials.

On top of experiencing the city’s rich Islamic history, guests can expect Arabic-speaking tour guides, ease of travel as well as restaurants and accommodation catering to their special needs.

Highlighting the appeal of the South African destination’s attractions and heritage to this niche segment, Enver Duminy, CEO, Cape Town Tourism, enthused, “We want the world to know that as a city we welcome Halal tourism, and that Muslim holiday-makers will find themselves well-catered for while visiting.”

South Africa has also been ranked as the fourth non-Organisation of Islamic Cooperation destination in the MasterCard CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index 2016.
