Bookings through online travel agents, hotel company websites and global distribution systems rose 3.3 percent, six percent and 7.4 percent, respectively.

Reservations made by direct calls to the hotel or by walk-in customers decreased 7.3 percent, while the volume of calls to a central reservation office fell 2.7 percent.

Compared to Q2 2015, average daily rates were up 1.3 percent and based on bookings for the next quarter, positive growth as well as online and mobile trends are predicted to continue.

The report focussed on hotel bookings for the transient segment based on 25 North American markets.
