The World Docked at Doha Port

The start of Qatar’s cruise season was marked with the two-day docking of what is said to be the largest privately owned yacht, The World.

Passengers on the luxury cruise ship were the first to take advantage of the country's new entry procedure which speeds up the disembarkation process, allowing tourists to enjoy their on-shore excursions within minutes of arrival.

Some 32 ships are due to call at the port between this October and April 2017, three times more than during the 2015/2016 season, bringing some 50,000 passengers to Qatar.

The World boasts 165 residences, with travellers living onboard, both full-time and periodically, as it sails around the globe.
