The launch of Wizz Air’s Abu Dhabi arm could pay dividends for the low-cost carrier by tapping into underserved markets and support the emirate by stimulating inbound tourism. This recent development reinforces the necessity for low-cost competition, and the airline will support the stimulation of leisure demand to the UAE during and post-COVID-19, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the UAE, on December 29, 2020 confirmed that Athens will be its inaugural destination, with flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport starting on January 15.  The airline is also to start flights from Abu Dhabi to Thessaloniki, starting on February 04.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest UAE based airline, recently announced a route from Abu Dhabi to Larnaca starting on October 03, of this year.

During an interview with aviation industry consultant John Strickland, during ATM Virtual, Joszef Varadi, CEO, Wizz Air, confirmed his ambitions for the low-cost carrier’s impending move to operate out of Abu Dhabi.

Wizz Air, one of the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe has announced another new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA), with flights to commence in summer 2019 to the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Varna.

European low-cost carrier, Wizz Air will launch a new service connecting the Polish destination of Katowice to Dubai World Central. The route, which is to commence on October 31, will be operated twice a week.
