Etihad’s involvement was part of its commitment to encourage youths across the UAE to engage with science and technology and pursue an aviation or aircraft engineering career. The event was organised by Emirates Foundation, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, minister, foreign affairs, UAE.
Emirati pilots, cadets and engineers from Etihad were present at the event, promoting the aviation industry and its various career opportunities. Visitors to Etihad’s stand were able to experience first-hand some of the experimental technologies, which include bag measurement and cargo container loading using augmented reality. The stand also offered visiting students the chance to experience what it is like to pilot an aircraft on a flight simulator.
Sara Mohamed Al Naqbi, first officer, Etihad Airways, enthused, “The aviation industry is heavily based on technological advancement and innovation, and we are confident many of the brilliant minds we meet today will contribute to this vital industry in the very near future."
