The new service began on January 26, with the link becoming the airline’s second year-round route to Italy from the Egyptian airport. It follows the year-round route to Milan, with Rome being served during the summer season.
Initially being flown weekly on Airbus A320 aircraft, the frequency of the 2,325 km route will increase to three times weekly for the summer period.
In 2017, Egyptian Tourism Authority’s (ETA) Italy office announced a strategic partnership project between the ETA and Italian Federation of Travel & Tourism Associations (FIAVET).
Jacopo De Ria, president, FIAVET, commented that Sharm El Sheikh will be advertised throughout Italy through the 1,000 tourism companies which are FIAVET members.
