Iraqi Airways Connects Iraq and Russia

Moscow Vnukovo Airport is now being served by Iraqi Airways from Baghdad and Basra, after the airline commenced its weekly services between the two regions.


The flights, which took off on September 17, are served with a Boeing 737-800, and will offer seamless connection between Iraq and Russia. The schedule from Baghdad is operated on a Wednesday.


Iraqi Airways, hailed as one of the oldest carriers in the Middle East, first began operations in 1945. It now serves a number of domestic routes as well as destinations in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
