Etihad Cargo Returned Endangered Rhinos Home

On behalf of African Perks, Etihad Cargo recently joined forces with Intradco Cargo Services to transport 19 black rhinoceros, a critically endangered species, from Johannesburg to Kigali onboard two Boeing 777 freighters.

The project represents a historical moment for Rwanda after the species disappeared in 2007 following decades of widespread poaching.Tom Lamb, project manager, Intradco Cargo Services, who escorted the animals to Akagera National Park, stated, “[...] It was a privilege to be able to accompany the rhinos on their homecoming and witness their release back into the wild. We would also like to thank Etihad Cargo for their role in operating the two flights and for their meticulous care and attention.”
