Christchurch Christchurch

Emirates Takes A380 to New Zealand

Starting October 30, Emirates' Airbus A380 will fly between Dubai and New Zealand five times a day. With the introduction of the double-decker aircraft on the Christchurch route – which will replace the currently deployed Boeing 777-300ER

– the Middle Eastern airline will become the first carrier to offer regular scheduled services on A380s to and from the destination.

As part of the upgrade, Emirates will also cancel the enroute stop in Bangkok, enabling passengers to travel all the way between Christchurch and Dubai, with just one stop in Sydney.

The launch of the A380 flights will coincide with the introduction of the Airbus A380 on the carrier's daily nonstop itinerary between Dubai and Auckland.
