Saudia Upgrades to EFB

Saudi Arabian Airlines commenced the implementation of the electronic flight bag (EFB) project on all flights. The initiative is set to eliminate all paper documents related to aviation, air navigation and technical features of different aircraft,

reducing flight weight by 5.1 tonnes per month and conserving 500 tonnes of jet fuel per annum.

EFB is an electronic display device intended for flight deck crew use, and includes charts, performance data and manuals to facilitate a higher level of ease and efficiency in managing flight tasks in a paperless setting.

The Saudi airline will welcome paperless cockpits by the end of the year.
