Increased Number of Travellers at QAIA

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) witnessed notable improvements in traffic in the first half of the year. According to statistics revealed by Airport International Group (AIG), Amman's hub received 3.42 million passengers,

recording a 5.4 percent boost over 2015. Aircraft movements (ACM) and cargo volumes also rose 5.7 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.

Conversely, the airport recorded weaker operational statistics in June, due to the month largely coinciding with Ramadan.

As a result, ACM dropped 1.9 percent, while passenge numbers were down seven percent.

Commenting on the airport's six-month figures, Kjeld Binger, CEO, AIG, expressed confidence and suggested that traffic is set to boom in months to come.
