Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has recently awarded a consortium led by Changi Airports International (CAI), a subsidiary of the Changi Airport Group, a contract to operate the Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) for 20 years.

In the first quarter (Q1) of the year, Sharjah International Airport (SIA) recorded significant year-on-year improvements in passenger traffic, up two percent, and aircraft movements, which grew three percent compared to Q1 2016.

According to Airport International Group, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 1,671,784 passengers in the first quarter of the year, climbing two percent compared to the corresponding period in 2016.

According to Dubai Airports, passenger traffic at Dubai International climbed 7.4 percent during the first quarter of the year, with the hub welcoming 22,496,596 travellers compared to 20,948,690 during the corresponding period in 2016.
