Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced the enhancement of its current sponsorship of German football club FC Bayern München as a platinum sponsor, asserting Qatar’s role as a global leader in sports.
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 3,609,875 passengers in the first half of the year (H1), up 5.4 percent, while aircraft movements rose 0.7 percent year-on-year, and the amount of cargo handled dropped 1.7 percent over H1 2016.
In June, the hub served 628,787 travellers, a jump of 14 percent over the corresponding month in 2016. Moreover, ACM and cargo also grew, up 8.9 percent and 22.2 percent, respectively.
