Dubai Airports Unveils World’s First MDCC Facility

Dubai Airports announced it has completed, what it claims to be, the world’s first Tier III certified Modular Data Centre Complex (MDCC). The new facility was designed to provide a stable environment for Dubai Airports to host its private cloud.

The project was led by Dubai Airports, and delivered by Chinese tech giant Huawei, after just over 400 days to coincide with the UAE’s innovation month this February.

Situated at Dubai International, the complex is equipped with next generation technologies to ensure the highest availability, maintainability, resilience and seamless business continuity to support the airport’s growing and complex operation.

The data centre is the first of two planned modular facilities that Huawei is expected to build for Dubai Airports. The timeline for the second facility has yet to be finalised.
