Cargo Soared at Bahrain International Airport

Bahrain International Airport saw a 15.1 percent year-on-year surge in cargo traffic during the period January – July.

All in all, the hub handled 168,636 tonnes of freight during the first seven months of the year, bolstered by a particularly strong July, during which Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) processed a record 22,597 tonnes of cargo and mail.

Ayman Zainal, chief commercial officer, BAC, said, “The fact that we have managed to handle this significant growth in volume in such a short time, shows that our airport has the agility to adapt to increasingly larger cargo and logistics operations, making BAC well prepared for anticipated future growth.”
