When and how did you get involved in the tourism industry?

I have more than three decades of industry experience. I started my career at Sharjah Airport Travel Agency in 1985.

The company is owned by Sharjah Airport Authority and the government, and we currently have 14 branches across the UAE with a head office in Sharjah. The organisation employs 170 multinational people from 14 countries.

What are the most important attributes of a good travel agent/tour operator?

The prime characteristics are financial stability and relevant experience to handle various segments of the market […].

An agency should also offer a diverse product mix and possess sales capability with the right promotional expertise.

Subsequently a travel agent should have adequate resources in terms of information technology […] and this should be coupled with sensible management and robust leadership.

What is the most frequently asked question that your company receives from customers?

[…] There are price-conscious customers who always ask for seasonal promotions and offers, on the other hand there are high-end luxury travellers who are not even bothered about the budgets.

What are the must-visits and must-dos in the UAE that no one should miss?

Each emirate has vivid attractions and activities to offer.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are very well-known by international travellers and now Ras Al Khaimah is also getting popular.

Sharjah is the art capital of UAE […]. The UAE offers state-of-the-art facilities, including hotels, restaurants and an excellent road infrastructure.

Which destination is on your bucket list?

To shorten the list, I would say New Zealand and Argentina.
