The hotel’s initiatives, among others, included a zero landfill project, urban farm, reverse osmosis water plant, and biodiesel conversion from used cooking oil, which prompted the new Green Globe certification.
“On top of completing the prestigious Green Globe certification for three consecutive years, Ramada Ajman is proud to have another notable accomplishment as a climate-neutral hotel for partaking in high-quality carbon offset projects,” outlined Iftikhar Hamdani, general manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman. “Our green committee will persevere on its environmental duties and incessantly spread awareness on the impact of sustainability, beyond the hospitality and tourism sectors.”
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman is reportedly the first hotel in the northern emirates to receive Green Globe certification.
The hotel’s green committee recently participated in a mangrove planting project in Ajman.
Hamdani was also invited to speak on the topic of Taking Responsibility for Environmental Impacts at the recent Arabian Travel Market; at a panel discussion about Expo 2020: Opportunities, Mobility and Sustainability, and at Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Market 2018.
