Salalah Rotana Resort Adds Organic Garden

Salalah Rotana Resort recently inaugurated an organic garden within its premises, as part of its corporate social responsibility and effort towards embracing sustainable practices.

The garden occupies 500 m space and houses four types of produce, including; tomato, mint leaves, cucumber, and radish. To facilitate the germination process, seeds were initially planted inside a box and grown for 15 days after which they were transferred to the garden area.

“We are committed to creating initiatives that have a positive impact on our environment,” commented Hossam Kamal, general manager, Salalah Rotana Resort. “The garden amongst other actions depicts this. Not only will this garden service our kitchen operations, we anticipate it to serve as a cost saving initiative and encourage other hotels to do the same.”

Salalah Rotana Resort’s effort reinforces the Rotana corporate sustainability initiative, Rotana Earth, which has been developed to address environmental, economic and social issues.
