The inauguration ceremony, which took place on March 18, was attended by Farouk Yousif Al Moayyed, chairman, Crowne Plaza Bahrain, Garfield Jones, CEO, Gulf Hotels Group, Abdullah Al Awadhi, general manager, Bahrain Tourism Company, and Gilles Nicholas, general manager, Crowne Plaza Bahrain.
“Developing the tourism facilities and services will further enhance the Kingdom’s tourism infrastructure to further strengthen the tourism sector,” remarked Al Khalifa.
Significantly, the unveiling of the renovated Crowne Plaza Bahrain comes as part of the hotel preparations for the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, which is set to occur this April. Specifically, Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s renovations included the refurbishment of 140 rooms within the hotel’s North Wing, now featuring 43-inch interactive smart televisions, new beds and curtains. The Club Lounge has also been renovated and is available to hotel guests and club users only.
