Sharjah’s 4th Hospitality Industry Forum Highlights Innovation

Building on an increase in local hospitality sector revenues, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA’s) 4th Hospitality Industry Forum focused on innovation.

Opening on December 04, the Continuous Innovation-themed event also centered on further tourism sector expansion.

A 7.8 percent increase in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2016 saw local hospitality sector revenues climb to AED372 million (USD101.28 million).

H.E. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, chairman, SCTDA, commented, “The remarkable expansion of the sector is the result of the Sharjah Government’s intensive efforts to adopt an innovative tourism approach to improve the sector through the provision of innovative solutions. This falls in line with Sharjah’s tourism vision which aims to attract more than 10 million tourists by the year 2021.”
